LOL is a collection of songs written and recorded in the early spring of 2020 when all of the saccharine daydreams that I’d had for months following the news that I was going to be a dad were juxtaposed with the gloom of a global pandemic.

The only thing we can do in opposition to entropy is continue to perpetuate life. This collection is in honour of the new life that I held in my arms for the first time on August 10, 2020, which reminded me of the reason we persist in the face of difficulty.

These songs are meant to serve as the soundtrack to the many fantastical adventures my daughter will have in her young life. They’re a timestamp of my sanguine spring. An expression of gratitude for the sun which continues to rise every day.

LOL is love of life. LOL is loss of life. It’s one despite the other. It’s both, forever. That considered, it’s also a directive… lol 😆
